The accused committed a gang-rape on a 17-year-old girl in a car on May 28. One of the minors involved is the son of the head of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the head of a government-run minority organization. The accused committed this horrific crime after promising a lift to the victims who were returning home after a party at a pub on the evening of May 28.

Because the accused was not aware of the crime and the crime was reported three days later, the accused fled to other locations. However, police have not shared details of where the accused were taken. On Friday night, the DCP expressed confidence that the police would arrest all the accused within 48 hours.

A police officer declined to disclose the location of the crime, saying it would reveal the identity of the victim. However, the accused left the pub in a car and stopped at a pastry shop. They left the car and boarded a different vehicle.

What was the case

Police investigations have revealed that the accused left the victim again at the pub after committing the crime. She called her father, who picked her up but suspected something was unpleasant for her because she had bruises on her neck.

On May 31, the victim’s father contacted police, suspecting that his daughter had gone to a non-alcoholic party during the day and that there might have been molestation. She told police that the victim was traumatized and was unable to speak.

On the basis of the complaint, the police started the investigation by registering a case under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 9 and 10 of the Prevention of Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. According to the Standard Operating Procedure, the next day after advising the victim’s child, the police sent her to a rehabilitation center where female officers made her comfortable and gave her confidence. The next day she revealed what happened and recorded her statement, ”the DCP said

Based on the victim’s statement, the police shifted the case to Section 376D of the IPC and Section 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act.

Various teams have been formed under the direction of the city police commissioner and are in the process of collecting details. “The victims were not in a position to disclose the identity of the accused because he did not know them before. This is corroborated with the victims’ statement based on CCTV footage and other technical evidence.

The police deny the rumors

Opposition BJP leaders have alleged that the grandson of the home minister of state and son of a MIM MLA is at peace.

The police officer described the allegations made against the grandson of the home minister as ‘100 per cent innocent’. Neither the victim’s statement nor any other evidence ever collected have shown that the son of the legislator was involved, he said.

However, investigations are ongoing and once the victim is in a position to make a detailed statement and if something comes out during the investigation into the involvement of others, action will be taken accordingly, a police officer said.

New Delhi: BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao on Saturday released a portrait and video of the MLA’s son compromising with the victim in a car. He alleged that the police were trying to protect the son of the MLA.
