Mumbai: Sindhu Moosewala, a renowned Punjabi singer and Congress leader, was shot dead by unknown perpetrators on May 29 in the Mansa district of Punjab, which shook the entire country. The news of his untimely demise shocked fans and drowned in grief. Now, as a heartfelt tribute to Moosewala, a Mumbai graffiti artist has created a portrait of a Punjabi singer on the wall in his neighboring Mulund. 28-year-old Neeraj Singh is a fan of the singer’s self-confessional portrait of Sidhu on a 12-foot wall in his neighboring Mulund. The artist told Hindustan Times that he did not understand Punjabi but liked his music and songs. “I have been a fan of Sidhu Moos Wala’s first song and learned Punjabi through his songs. I loved his collaboration with my favorite rapper Divine. When I heard the news of his death I was really shocked and wanted to pay tribute to him. The youth of my colony urged me to paint a portrait of them because they have a huge fan base here, ”he said.
