Ravi Shastri Predicts India’s Playing XI For 1st T20I vs South Africa: Rishabh Pant Over Dinesh Karthik; Umran Malik Debut Likely

New Delhi: With less than a week to go before the start of the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa, speculation about who will play and who will miss the playing XI. Shastri has calculated that if the XI is on the line, veteran Dinesh Karthik may be missed and Umran Malik may be in line for his debut. “I think they go with the guys they want to see first – Rahul, Ruthuraj Gayakwadz – maybe they open up. They’ll probably give Ishan (Kishan) a break or bat at three o’clock in this game,” Shastri said on the Star Sports Show ‘Game Plan’. “If you bat him (Ishaan) at three, it’s Shreyas (Iyer) at No. 4, (Rishabh) at Pant No. 5 and Hardik (Pandya) at No. 6,” he said.

According to Shastri, it could be a toss between Arshadeep Singh and Umran Malik.
